Purpose
This article describes how to switch to and from an account to which you have delegate access (that is, a host account).
Review our other articles to learn more about delegates, in general.
Audience
This article is directed toward users with a paid TravelBank expense and travel management account. It also applies to Commercial Rewards Card program users on a paid plan.
Actions you can take as a delegate
Delegate users can perform a variety of tasks, such as editing, approving, or returning expense reports. For a full list of actions you can perform as a delegate, review our roles and permissions article.
Actions you cannot take as a delegate
When you are acting as a delegate, you cannot take certain actions:
To preserve company structure, you do not have access to Company Settings, and you cannot add employees or modify employee permissions.
You cannot view, modify, or add a reimbursement bank account for a host account. For privacy and security, only the account owner can take these actions.
You cannot switch to another host account. If you do this, an error message appears.
For example: Employee A is a delegate for Employee B’s account, and Employee B is a delegate for Employee C’s account. If Employee A is logged in to Employee B’s account, Employee A cannot switch to Employee C’s account, even though Employee B is a delegate for Employee C.
Switch to an account you are a delegate for
To switch to an account you are a delegate for, go to the TravelBank left navigation menu and select My Account.
On the My Account page, select Switch Account (Figure 1).

This brings up a dialog with two tabs: My Accounts and Assigned to me.
The My Accounts tab shows employees you can perform tasks for (that is, employees you are a delegate for), and the Assigned to me tab shows employees who can sign in and take actions for you (that is, employees that are delegates for you)(Figure 2). You can switch to different accounts in the My Accounts tab, and the Assigned to Me tab is simply for your information.

Select Log In in the row of the employee you want to perform tasks for (that is, the host account). This takes you to the My Account page for that employee. Unlike when you are logged in as yourself and the My Account page says “Hi, <your username>”, the page now says “Logged in as <employee username>”.
You can now perform actions on behalf of the employee.
Switch back to your account
After you have completed the needed tasks in the host account, you can switch back to your account by selecting Switch Back at the top-right of the page (Figure 3).
